When Making A Murderer came out, the true-crime genre changed forever.
Steven Avery, Brendan Dassey, Teresa Halbach – they all became household names, and internet sleuths gathered in huge numbers to pick apart every aspect of a crime that grabbed the world’s attention.
We’ve been made to wait all of three years, but now it’s time to revisit Halbach’s murder with the second season.
I know it’s morbid, but I am very excited. More info from VICE:
…from the look of the new trailer, Avery’s conviction at the end of season one is far from the end of the story.
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer follows Avery and Dassey through their appeals process, as their legal teams dig into the case. But according to the show’s creators, the new episodes won’t just catch audiences up on everything that has happened since the end of season one—they’ll also use the time to re-examine some old pieces of the case in a different light.
“We felt like we had a fully arced-out season in Part 1, but we learned in the response to the series that there were lingering questions,” Making a Murdererco-creator Laurea Ricciardi [said].
I think the term ‘lingering questions’ is a gross understatement, but let’s just watch the trailer:
Now you just have to bide your time until October 19. Pretty sure that’s enough time to rewatch the first season – just sayin’.
