If you look good in your ID photo then get out, because it’s basically a law of nature or something that you have to look like an idiot.

If, like the rest of us, you do have a terrible ID photo, the good news is it could never be as bad as Putin’s KGB ID picture.

He was a weird looking chap, and a far cry from the ripped adventurer his 2019 calendar would have you believe.

Researchers in Germany have uncovered the Stasi ID card issued to Vladimir Putin during his time as a KGB officer in East Germany at the end of the Cold War.

The card was found at the Stasi documentation centre in Dresden, which archives the activities of East Germany’s all-powerful secret police, reports The Telegraph.

    Here it is:

Receding hairline and pouting – not a good look.

Closer inspection of the ID card shows that it was issued in 1986 and continually revalidated up until the end of 1989.

Konrad Felber, the director of the Stasi archives in Dresden, told Bild newspaper that the Stasi ID would have given Mr Putin broad access to the secret police’s offices.

“It really is a mini sensation,” Mr Felber said. “This meant that he didn’t need to let anyone know that he was working for the KGB.”

He also cautions against jumping to conclusions that Putin was on the Stasi payroll.

Even so, Putin’s time in Dresden is shrouded in secrecy, and we all know that he doesn’t use ‘conventional’ methods when dealing with his enemies, so we can’t really rule out the possibility.

Putin spent four years as an agent of the Russian KGB in Dresden in the 1980s and witnessed the collapse of the communist state first-hand.

Judging by this pic, he wasn’t having the best time while he was there.

I’m going to throw this one your way. Caption the above pic in the comments section below. This deserves to be a meme.
