  • Prince Philip (97) Rolled His Car And Was Breathalysed By Cops [Video + Images]

Prince Philip rarely appears in public these days.

There are a number of reasons for that. He’s 97-going-on-biltong, and has a bad track record when it comes to..ahem…“ speaking his mind” in public.

If it wasn’t for the series, The Queen, you probably wouldn’t remember that he exists.

He’s still ticking along, though, despite getting on in years. So strong that he managed to walk away from a pretty bad car crash “very shocked and shaken”, but otherwise unscathed, reports IOL.

You can see footage of the aftermath of the crash below:

While Prince Philip emerged unharmed, two people in another car were injured.

Norfolk Police said two women – the driver and passenger of a Kia – required hospital treatment but were later discharged. It would not confirm reports that a baby was also in the car.

The BBC reported that Prince Philip’s vehicle turned on its side after pulling out of a Sandringham driveway onto a main road and colliding with the Kia.

Witness Roy Warne, 75, told The Sun newspaper that the Prince was pulled from the wreckage “conscious” but “very shocked and shaken”.

Norfolk Police said, in accordance with procedure, it breathalysed both drivers. Both tests provided negative readings.

Philip is no stranger to driving and, despite his age, has been seen behind the wheel often since retiring from public life. He also competed in demanding carriage driving competitions into his 80s.

    Tough old bloke.
