Wilder Boxing Knockout Has Nothing On This MMA Fight-Stopper [Video]

American heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder may have dished out a cracking right over the weekend, but this knockout pips him to the post.

Over the weekend, American heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder dealt with opponent Dominic Breazeale rather efficiently.

His knockout punch in the first round was a real teeth-rattler, and also spawned the ‘red tie’ meme guy.

Whilst that was a mean right hook, we should probably mention Cosmo Alexandre’s knockout blow to MMA fighter Sage Northcutt.

As you can see from that picture above, Northcutt was left worse for wear, undergoing nine hours of surgery to repair eight fractured bones in his face.

The total duration of his ONE Championship debut fight against Cosmo on Friday evening? 29 seconds:

I’m slightly nauseous just watching that.

To Northcutt’s credit, he took the defeat well, posting to Instagram:

Feeling blessed for the amazing care and all the support from @onechampionship, my family/friends and fans! My Terminator face is not too Shabby.. “I’ll be back!” Next post is catheter removal…stay tuned.

You’ll be pleased to know that he has yet to post any catheter-removal shots.

Northcutt was dropped by the UFC last year, with president Dana White saying that he needed to “get some work in some other organisations”.

If he keeps getting hammered in the ONE Championship, it’s tough to see him competing in the big leagues once more.
