While the world heads into lockdowns and laws to curb the spread of the coronavirus, healthcare providers across the globe, and more specifically in South Africa, heed the call of duty to attend to the sick and infected.

Many parents are there to home school their kids, but healthcare providers fighting on the frontline of the pandemic and their children are battling to keep up with their education as schools close indefinitely.

We owe them our support and gratitude.

That’s why the Valenture Institute, a global online high school offering an education that rivals that of top private schools, is stepping up to help the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and specialists working to keep us safe and treat those who have fallen victim to the pandemic.

Here’s Rob Paddock, CEO and founder of Valenture Institute:

At Valenture Institute, we feel it’s our responsibility to support those who are selflessly supporting the rest of us. The aim here is to lessen the stress on these providers while they’re serving the public, knowing that their children are being educated fully amidst the pandemic.

The Institute is launching a unique scholarship program for the children of healthcare providers.

The scholarship program will offer a one-year, tuition-free enrolment to high school learners of healthcare providers, worth at least R60 000, depending on the number of subjects and the duration.

Your child will join the June 2020 intake and continue to learn while at home through a full-service online high school, that utilises a combination of technology, high-tech human support, and social engagement.

The ‘Valenture Institute Healthcare Scholarship Program’ will accept learner admissions from Monday, 6th April 2020.

Licensed healthcare providers can submit their child’s online application via the dedicated email address, admissions@valentureinstitute.com, with the subject line: ‘Healthcare Scholarship Program’.

You will also be required to submit supporting documents that will be vetted according to admission criteria. The prospective learners will be assessed by the Institute’s admissions team.

The following will need to be sent via email as the application:

    • A copy of the learner applicant’s latest school report
    • The applicant’s birth certificate OR Identity Document OR passport
    • The Healthcare provider’s active HPCSA registration number

If you’d like to know more about the Valenture Institute, visit their website and download their info pack. Once you’ve filled out your email address, and phone number, The Institute will forward you a comprehensive PDF of everything that they offer.

You can also listen to an informative podcast, Think Outside The Classroom, where Bradley Elliott speaks to Harvard Professor and Chancellor at the Institue, Robert Lue, about the global pandemic we all face at the moment, and how it is shaping not just the future of education, but the very face of it today.

To our doctors, nurses, pharmacists, specialists, and other heroes on the front line – we salute you.
