The end of lockdown will be celebrated for many different reasons.
Some can’t wait to have their hair and nails done, and to them, I say you do you.
Then there are those who long for places like the Kruger National Park, or Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, or anywhere that offers the chance to enjoy watching wildlife other than our screens.
Those virtual safaris are great, but nothing can replace the sheer exhilaration of being in the bush yourself.
Thankfully, we also have the always popular Latest Sightings to tide us over, and a video shared earlier this week shows a wild dog hunt full of twists and turns:
This jam-packed sighting of a pack of wild dogs chasing impalas, with hippos and hyenas interfering, was captured by two people in different vehicles at the same time!
Francois Pienaar and Rogan Roams, caught up with LatestSightings.com, and explained the events of the day and how incredible it was having this unexpected twist to what seemed to be a “normal chase” for breakfast.
You can read Francois’ and Rogan’s account here, but watching the video should do the trick.
This was filmed in Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which is near to the Kruger Park:
All that was missing was a crocodile to really up the ante.
Last week, the same channel also shared this video of a hyena nipping in and stealing a python’s meal:
Cheeky buggers.
