  • Keen To Switch From ADSL To Fibre? Check This Out

I’ve recently upgraded the speed of my home fibre.

Why? Because when this hellish year finally draws to a close, and it’s time to kick back and relax, I intend to simultaneously stream two movies, whatever sport is on (unless it’s the Proteas – too painful), and browse on my phone.

Not really, but I’m just making certain that nothing buffers, ever. Life is too short for buffering.

For those still relying on an ADSL connection at home, you may want to make the switch to fibre sooner rather than later.

In parts of the country, more and more copper cable infrastructure is being removed, and fibre is becoming increasingly widespread.

At present, RSAWEB is running a great deal, partnering with Octotel to ensure that making the change is easier, and more affordable, than ever.

If you switch from ADSL to RSAWEB fibre in all Octotel areas, whether they are currently live or still pending the building of fibre infrastructure, you will receive one month free – no matter the size of the fibre package you decide to go for.

With that free month, and depending on the package you get, you will probably find that your yearly price is quite close to what you’re currently paying for ADSL.

When you factor in that you will no longer have to have to pay for a Telkom landline to stay connected, and thus never have to deal with Telkom again, it’s an even sweeter deal.

Here’s how you can check if you qualify:

    1. Navigate to www.rsaweb.co.za/connectivity/ftth/
    2. Click on ‘Check your home address for availability’’ and insert your full home address.
    3. Select your package and insert your details.
    4. Secure your order.

I searched Octotel in my area, and found these options:

Just above ‘Select Package’, you’ll see that switch to fibre special ticked.

Search your area here to see if you qualify.

After that, it’s feet up on the couch, devices streaming all over the show, and goodbye to buffering.

2020 has been a stinker. You deserve this.
