That stat is entirely made up, of course, but former British Prime Minister Liz Truss’ 44-day stint in charge highlights the mess among the Conservative Party’s leadership.
Truss left office with a 10% favourability rating among the British public, according to a recent YouGov poll. Boris Johnson, the previous incumbent, had an approval rating of 29% in the same poll.
It appeared that BoJo would push hard for a return to Tory leadership but dropped his bid yesterday. Former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak now appears all but certain to become the UK’s third prime minister this year.
