If you don’t know what Kool-Aid is, it’s the American equivalent of Oros, only with a shit ton of sugar and an abundance of magical E numbers. If the American Heart Association had hitmen, this guy who invented this snack would be at the top of their list. But really, he loves deep-frying so much that you can actually see the excitement in his eyes.
And guess what? His name is Chicken Charlie Boghosian, as in Charlie and the Chicken Factory. He started his career working at fairs when he was just 14, and at 22 went into business for himself selling fried chicken.
Now at the tender age of 42, there isn’t much he hasn’t submersed in oil. He claims he has invented more than 100 deep-fried foods, but nothing this popular.
In the opening weekend he went through 68 kilograms of Kool-Aid, and 68 kilograms of flour. Wow.
I can’t help but think that the only way to market his talents now, is to deep fry his CV. It could be his calling card, like a villain in a cartoon -“Hearts will quiver at the mention of Chicken Charlie!”
