Swedish artist Sanna Dullaway transforms famous vintage black and white pictures into high resolution colour versions. Examples include celebrations that marked VJ (Victory in Japan) day, images of devastation from Pearl Harbour and “The Burning Monk” who was protesting against the Vietnamese President’s Catholic doctrine.
Dulluway also gives some of the most recognisable faces in history the colour treatment. According to her, the idea behind her work is to re-emphasise the scene each picture is portraying.
