Steve Jobs didn’t like Apple execs giving interviews. Up until recently Apple’s design chief, Jonathan Ive, has only appeared a handful of times in public for his works, much less give an in-depth interview. Please meet the designer that changed the world.
Steve Wozniak has always had wacky ideas when the rest of the world looks mute and dull. He created the personal computer as a kid when experts said it can’t be done, remember? Although he isn’t an active member of the Apple engineering family anymore, he still has lots to say about his beloved Cupertino.
If you happen to see someone in Apple’s Grand Central store pick up an Apple product and walkout the store without ever talking to a salesperson or paying at the checkout counter, please don’t tackle them. It isn’t a case of daylight robbery – they may have used Apple’s iBeacon.
Apple celebrated the Macintosh computer’s 30th anniversary with the release of this video. The video is a compilation of footage shot during the span of one day across five continents in ten different countries, highlighting the Mac’s use in design, robotics, education and engineering. That soul-destroying sensation of patting your phone-pocket and finding nothing can only be matched in awfulness by the sight of your phone plummeting towards a concrete floor at high speed.
Sweet Mary mother of Jesus – this one is a shocker. Apple’s App Store had to pull a ‘Barbie-inspired’ plastic surgery app off their digital shelves this week, because it was so obviously, clearly, unambiguously and definitely wrong.

A metallic-red Mac Pro has just sold for almost ten million bucks in a recent auction, making it the most expensive computer ever sold.
Is this a good thing,or a bad thing? The thought of your home being controlled by Apple gives off a distinctly ‘I, Robot’ kind of vibe. Imagine you come home and within minutes your TV is set to your favourite channel, your lights are all on and the kettle is already boiling – without you having to lift a finger. All because your iPhone sensed that you just got home.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro has been a mainstay of laptop computing for years now. What’s phenomenal is the sheer consistency of the product – delivering top end aesthetics and performance year, after year, after year. This time Apple have, similarly to the new iPad, slimmed everything down without compromising on performance or display.
It’s been a year since one of Apple’s chief techies – Scott Forstall – left Apple, and was replaced by Jony Ive and Craig Federighi, who were supposed to manage both iOS and OS X. It was there to save the drunk. It was there to save the clumsy and the butter-fingered, and it did.
