Watch this incredible Italian with a couple of planks strapped to his feet, clad in latex, go at a speed the average car doesn’t even reach. On Monday, Simone Origone beat the world record for speed skiing, clocking in at 252.454km/h, at the French ski resort Vars.
The Origone beat the previous record of 251.397km/h set back in 2006.
The Chabrières track at Vars, and another in Verbier, Switzerland, are the only two tracks in the world where these breakneck speeds can be achieved. They are the only ones certified without speed limits because of their configurations and security features.
