He spends many an hour at the gym, takes longer than his girlfriend to get ready and loves to snap a picture of himself standing in front of things. It’s your mate, the king of the selfie.
We know he pisses you off. He pisses us off and we don’t even know the guy. So doff your caps to the fine folk at Ohio State University, who have so thoughtfully provided you with the ammo you need to take your mate down a peg or two.
According to Time the study in question, which surveyed 800 men between 18 and 40:
confirmed a common belief that men who share selfies online are more likely to be narcissistic, according to the study, published recently in Personality and Individual Differences. Narcissism and self-objectification were also linked to men who edit their selfies before posting them online.
It’s not all bad news for the selfie-stick waving, in-front-of-things posing narcissists though:
the study found that men who post selfies online may actually appear more attractive to others.
Quite what this says about the women who find these pics more attractive wasn’t part of the study, but our guess is that they are the same kind of women who go to the gym with their boyfriends and giggle excitedly as he bounces his pecs. All while taking selfies of course.
