Ever heard of a little Paternoster restaurant called Wolfgat?
Yeah, you have, because back in February it won the title of ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the World Restaurant Awards.
Quite a feather in the cap of the restaurant and its head chef, Kobus van der Merwe, and you’ll need to book well in advance if you want to grab a bite to eat at the quaint 20-seater.
When he isn’t cooking up a storm himself, Kobus has his own Cape Town favourite. In a video with Eat Out, he dishes the dirt on where he goes for a meal:
Pretty decent wheels, Kobus.
Back on home turf, the Wolfgat team was quizzed on just how well they know Kobus, and vice versa.
A chef that screams and shouts? Never heard of such a thing:
Seems like there’s a good vibe in the kitchen, which probably contributes a fair deal to their success.
Guys, if you want to have us over for a bite to eat, we won’t say no.
