Get Lucky Summer kicked off this past weekend at Zevenwacht Wine Estate, and if it’s a taste of things to come, the New Year’s event is going to be off the hook.

There was grass underfoot, a drink in hand, and music for the masses.

Great food was also abundant. If you’re attending one of the upcoming events, and find yourself feeling too spoiled for choice, I highly recommend tracking down the Holy Macaroni food truck. You can’t go wrong with mac n cheese, especially when it’s that good.

The whole thing had a festival feeling without the usual inconveniences of a festival. There was plenty of shade, plenty of places to have a seat when you wanted to take a break from the dancing, and plenty of good times to go around.

Craig Lucas got the chilled vibes flowing in the early afternoon. Then Jimmy Nevis took things up a notch, before No Method got people on their feet and moving.

By the time GoodLuck took the stage, the party was in full swing and after some upbeat magic, Jules surprised everyone with a rare acoustic set.

It was pretty spectacular and moving. People cried – in a good way.

    The aftermovie says it all:

    Superb.

It’s not too late to score tickets to one of the remaining shows taking place throughout December and into January. GoodLuck will be at all of the events, where they’ll be joined by a host of friends including Rubber Duc, TIMO ODV, Mogey, Just Dru, World of Birds, Jeremy Loops, The Kiffness, and Biggy.

And, in case you somehow missed it, GoodLuck and Goldfish will be taking the stage together on New Year’s Eve for the first time. Trust me when I say that you don’t want to miss SA music history in the making.
