Sydney Sweeney, who plays hopeless romantic Cassie Howard in the sensational HBO Max series Euphoria, revealed quite a bit in the show’s second season.
Fuelled by drugs, sex, and high school drama, the show had Sweeney get naked for a scene in which she has sex with her best friend’s boyfriend.
She recently popped up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she spoke about taking her whole family, including her grandparents, to the premiere, where the show played out on a “ginormous screen”, reported The New York Post.
She said she was so excited about the big Hollywood event that she completely forgot about her nude scenes as she sat next to her family members.
But her grandparents took it in their stride, with her grandmother even complimenting her for having “the best t-ts in Hollywood”.
Cool grandma.
Watch the segment below:
24-year-old Sweeney says she is mostly happy to appear naked onscreen when it makes sense for her character, although she does sometimes feel like the focus on her body means her performance gets overlooked:
“I’m very proud of my work in ‘Euphoria… I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked.”
She was also a little incredulous about the fact that critics only noticed her performance in White Lotus, where she does not strip down, once she disrobed in Euphoria, adding that there’s still a “stigma against actresses who get naked on-screen”.
It’s good to know Euphoria creator Sam Levinson never pushed her to strip down for scenes that she didn’t feel were completely essential for her “basket case” character.
