There’s very little you should do with a good bottle of champagne besides enjoy it, slowly and elegantly, with deep consideration for how much money you’re knocking back.
Most especially if it is an almost R40 000 bottle of Dom Perignon.
Then again, wealth is often wasted on those who have money to spend and squander.
As a viral video making the rounds on Twitter will show you; there is very much a difference between class and, excuse my French, ass.
The South African reported on a video of a South African man washing his hands with an expensive as heck bottle of champagne at a club.
The Twitter user who shared the video suggests that the bottle is a three-litre bottle of vintage Dom Perignon worth around R37 000 (in-store, nogal, you can only imagine the club mark-up):
Not too shabby at R37 000,00 a bottle to wash your hands with it. 😏🤓🤡 pic.twitter.com/lOHAYxiD8F

Some of the people commenting have noted that it might actually be a 1.5-litre bottle, which will still cost a cool R14 000 or so.
It could be the cheaper one. But R4400 for handwash is still disgusting. pic.twitter.com/rwLzH3N50s

This champagne-wasting, money-squandering antics are reminiscent of those party people in Pretoria who racked up an R1,3 million bar bill at 012 Lifestyle bar in Brooklyn.
The guests were treated to 100 bottles of the Ace of Spades champagne, 50 bottles of Veuve, and an additional 20 bottles of Dom Perignon by the flamboyant Zimbabwean ‘prophet’ who goes by the name of Passion Java.
Java was either a real blesser that night or he was involved in some sketchy money-laundering scheme. Who knows anymore?
Anyway, the comments from this latest champagne cleaning operation are fire:
Probably on some government departments tab, so why worry.

Comrade’s got to wash his hands before he eats. 🤷

Truths were fired left, right and centre:
How you make money will determine how you spend/waste it.

No hardworking person will do such a thing unless you make money illicitly.

Loads of people reckoned with how else the money could have been spent in our country.
Many other’s rightfully commented, “easy come, easy go”.
