Can you believe a raunchy TV ad with Pamela Anderson has been banned? But not for the reasons you would expect. The advert has been pulled for being sexist and degrading to women.
The advert was for web hosting service CrazyDomains.co.uk. The advert shows Anderson and an assistant in a boardroom full of men. One of the gentlemen begins to fantasize about the sexy twosome dancing around in their bikinis while being covered in cream. According to CrazyDomain’s parent company, Dreamscape Networks, the gentlman’s daydream was not “gratuitous or pornographic.”
The advert received four complaints for being offensive due to its sexist and degrading imagery. The Advertising Standards Authority said:
The ad was likely to cause serious offence to some viewers on the basis that it was sexist and degrading to women.
