Have you heard of the wedding industrial complex?

The term ‘industrial complex’ refers to a mutually beneficial relationship between policymakers and various businesses within an industry.

To put it simply, the social pressure to get married, and to do so in an extravagant way that bankrupts you, means that people make a ton of money off of your social conditioning.

This is how the ‘bridezilla’ became a thing. It’s also how you find yourself standing in a wheat field with your Significant Other, having paid thousands of rands for an allergy-inducing engagement shoot that you don’t actually need.

Every now and then, though, you get a sweet story where someone doesn’t want the cash, they just want to keep the romance alive.

    Here’s CNN:

Freelance photographer Matt Dippel doesn’t shoot weddings or engagement photos, but he took a beauty during his recent travels through Yosemite National Park in California — and the happy couple doesn’t even know it.

Dippel was waiting to take a picture of his buddy, Josh, on Taft Point earlier this month when a couple walked out and the man dropped to one knee.

The pic really is a winner. You couldn’t pay for this level of perfection:

The couple hugged and looked happy, so Dippel thinks that the proposal went well. When he ran over to the spot to try and find them they had vanished and no one knew who they were.

He really wants to give them the photo, so he’s taken to Facebook to get help with the hunt:

The post has been shared close to 15 000 times and tons of people have joined in to help Dippel with his mission.

He’s gotten several photos of possible candidates, but none of them have matched, so far.

“I’m probably just going to make them a really big print of it, so they can have it,” he said. “I just want to find them and deliver the photo to them because it’s a really cool photo and its a special moment for them.”

Dippel, the gorgeous corn chip that he is, has put his contact info in the post. So if you know something, say something.

    Keep the love alive.
